If you know, you know. Track 5 is sacred territory. I wanted the gown to carry that same emotional weight—the kind of piece that quietly steals the show without ever asking for attention. The inspiration came from the intersection of two very different worlds: the bold emotional storytelling of Taylor Swift’s Redera and the exquisite bias work found in vintage lingerie ateliers, where seams and design lines contour the body almost like topographic mapping rather than following a formulaic pattern. The layered lace takes notes from our fitted Chrysalis gown, especially in the bias lines that guide the eye and shape the figure, and each layer reveals another dimension beneath the surface. There’s something almost metamorphic about it. When we finished the piece it genuinely shook something loose in my soul—the kind of gown that reminds you why you fell in love with designing in the first place. And yes, she absolutely needed a mantilla veil. Some moments deserve a little extra reverence.
Bijou means jewel in French. A small but precious treasure you stumble upon and instantly feel drawn to. When I was designing this one, I kept thinking about ornamentation the way a jeweler might approach it… decorative and layered in devotion.Addedfrost that captivates. The corset borrows from classic French couture corsetry, the kind perfected in the ateliers of Paris where structure is treatedalmost likearchitecture. The micro-embroidered florals are peppered with pearls like mirrored constellations, a little nod to the celestial embellishment you sometimes see in Belle Époque jewelry and early couture gowns. I love the softness of chiffon against that structure, and the hidden micro-pleats under the waistline give the skirt this beautiful sweep when the bride moves. The pearl bolero was the final topper, adding a bit of romance and dramadependingshould the occasioncallfor it (it typically does). To me, BijouBijoufeels enchanting but modern, like a bride standing at the crossroads of romantic renaissance and embellished modernity.
